A training app earns the right to interrupt you by being specific. This page lists each notification Method can send, the rule that triggers it, the time it arrives, and the switch that turns it off.

> **In short.** Method sends a small, named set of notifications from the iPhone app, each with a stated rule and time. Session reminder 60 minutes before a scheduled session. An achievement note about 90 minutes after a workout that set a record. A weekly review at 18:00 at the end of the week. A final-week note when a program is about to end, and a note when it has finished with nothing scheduled next. An optional follow-up 60 minutes after a planned session with no completed workout, and an optional 07:00 note on a day with nothing planned. Reminders stay inside 05:00 to 21:00 in your timezone. Seven types are individually switchable. The rest timer's "Time's up" is a local notification that fires when any countdown finishes.

## The list

| Notification | When it fires | Configurable |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Session reminder | 60 minutes before a scheduled session, looking up to 7 days ahead | Yes |
| Workout achievement | About 90 minutes after a completed workout that set a record, within a 6-hour window | Yes |
| Weekly review | 18:00 at the end of the training week | Yes |
| Program final week | When the active program enters its final week | Yes |
| Missed session follow-up | 60 minutes after a planned session's time if no workout was completed | Yes |
| No workouts planned | 07:00 on a day with nothing scheduled | Yes |
| Program finished, nothing next | When the active program ends with no program scheduled to follow | Yes |
| Apple Health import | When an imported workout is complete, held up to 30 minutes for the watch's series to arrive | Part of Apple Health import |
| Rest timer finished | When the current rest countdown reaches zero | Fires whether the timer started automatically or by hand |

All times are in your timezone. Scheduled reminders are clamped to between 05:00 and 21:00.

## How the timing works

Method plans notifications on a short cycle, every five minutes, and a worker delivers what is due. That is why a reminder lands close to its stated offset rather than exactly on the second, and why the windows exist. A reminder whose moment has passed by more than its window is dropped rather than sent late.

The achievement notification waits about 90 minutes after the workout so it is not competing with the session itself. The weekly review lands in the evening so the week is actually over. The Apple Health import note is held until the watch's heart rate and route series have arrived, or 30 minutes have passed, so it describes a complete record.

## Permission

Method never prompts for notification permission on launch. The prompt appears the first time you take an action that needs it, for example turning on a reminder or starting a rest timer with auto-start on. If you decline, the app carries on and the rest timer still shows in the Dynamic Island and on the Lock Screen; only the "Time's up" note is skipped.

## What Method does not send

No streak reminders. No marketing pushes today. No "you have not opened the app" notes. No notifications on the web. The missed-session follow-up is the only one that responds to something you did not do, and it only fires for a session you had actually planned.

## Turning things off

Each of the seven configurable types has its own switch in the iPhone app's notification settings. Turn off the ones you do not want and the rest keep working. The rest timer's "Time's up" note fires whenever a countdown finishes, whether it started automatically or by hand; it stops if you decline notification permission.

## Common questions

### Will Method remind me before a workout?

Yes, if you turn on session reminders. The reminder arrives 60 minutes before a scheduled session, within a quiet-hours window of 05:00 to 21:00 in your timezone.

### Does Method nag me about streaks?

No. There is no streak notification. The closest things are an optional follow-up 60 minutes after a planned session you did not complete, and an optional morning note at 07:00 on a day with nothing planned.

### Can I turn notifications off?

Yes. Seven of the notification types are individually configurable in the iPhone app. Method never asks for notification permission until you take an action that needs it.

### Do notifications work on the web?

No. Push notifications are iPhone only. The web app does not send them.
