Where Method runs: iPhone, Apple Watch, and web

A plain list of the devices Method runs on, the minimum versions, what each surface is for, and what Method does not support, so nobody installs it and finds out the hard way.

The three surfaces

SurfaceNeedsWhat it is for
iPhone appiOS 26.0 or later, iPhone onlyStarting scheduled sessions, logging strength sets, recording cardio, rest timer, Apple Health import, notifications, account and subscription
Web appA modern browser at methodapp.netBuilding and editing programs, saved sessions, exercise library, history, analytics, exports, account and billing
Apple Watch appwatchOS 26.1 or later, paired to the iPhone appRecording cardio activities with live heart rate, pace, distance, and laps

The split is deliberate. Planning wants a keyboard and a big screen. Logging wants the phone in your hand. Cardio wants the watch on your wrist.

iPhone

The iPhone app is the training surface. It shows the calendar of scheduled sessions, starts them, logs every set with the prescription in view, suggests loads when that setting is on, runs the rest timer as a Live Activity on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, records cardio with GPS for outdoor run, walk, and ride, imports Apple Health workouts in the background, and keeps working offline with queued writes that sync when you are back online.

The app targets iOS 26.0. It is built for iPhone only, not iPad, and does not run on Mac or Apple Vision.

Web

The web app is the planning and review surface. Programs are built here with blocks, weeks, and sessions, each session holding strength exercises and cardio activities with full prescriptions. Weeks can be duplicated, days reordered, fields bulk edited across any scope, and exercises swapped across the whole program. History, analytics, and CSV and PDF exports live here too, along with account settings and web billing.

The web app does not log workouts. A browser tab is a poor place to tick sets, and the phone is already in the gym.

Method does not publish a browser support matrix. The web app is built for current versions of the major browsers. If a feature misbehaves in a specific browser, tell support.

Apple Watch

The Method Watch app is embedded in the iPhone app and installs alongside it. It records cardio activities across the same 20 activity types as the phone, runs a real workout session for heart rate and energy, streams live metrics to the phone, supports manual laps that become splits in your history, and can be launched from a workout started in Apple Fitness. Completed activities are queued durably and uploaded through the phone.

It does not log strength workouts.

What Method does not run on

  • Android. Method is deliberately Apple-first. There is no Android app, and one is not planned.
  • iPad. There is no iPad app. The web app works on iPad in Safari.
  • Mac. There is no Mac app. The web app works on Mac in any modern browser.
  • Apple Vision. Not supported.

Account requirements

You sign in with Apple, Google, or an email address and password. Email sign-in requires verifying the address first. The same account works across iPhone, Apple Watch, and web.

Method Pro is sold on the web through Stripe and in the iPhone app through the App Store. Either purchase unlocks Pro everywhere; see the pricing page for what it includes.
